Famous lesbian’s cookbook inspires Artisphere event

Orange Arrow presents “Food Meets Art: Alice B. Toklas” on Jan. 13 at Artisphere (1101 Wilson Blvd.) in Arlington from 7 to 9 p.m.

The evening will not only feature dishes from “The Alice B. Toklas Cookbook,” but will follow the legendary lesbianā€™s specific instructions for presentation and consumption.

Toklas acted as dinner hostess to many of the 20th century’s greatest artists including Picasso and Matisse in the Parisian home she shared with her partner Gertrude Stein.

Food Meets Art is part of “Notasphere” a month of programming created by local artistic collaborators.
