Curtis joins Ferrick for Voices United show

The lesbian folk-rock singer frequently explores her sexuality through her music

Melissa Ferrick, a lesbian folk-rock singer, performs as part of “Voices United: For Separation of Church and State” with Catie Curtis at Church of the Epiphany (1317 G St., N.W.) on Friday, Sept. 27. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.; show starts at 7.

Ferrick frequently explores her sexuality through her music and is known for using lesbian themes. Her talent led Morrissey to invite her to be the opening act on his tour. She has founded her own record label and has more than 16 albums and EPs to date, playing almost every instrument herself.
