The Latino GLBT History Project (LHP) presents its eighth annual D.C. Latino Pride Celebration Sunday through June 5 at various locations around the District.
On Sunday, there will be āLa CoronaciĆ³n,ā the Projectās 2014-2015 Royal Court Coronation, at Cobalt (1639 R St., N.W.) from 10 p.m.-2 a.m. Royal Court members include Miss Latino GLBT History Project Gladys Gonzalez and Mr. Latino GLBT History Project Juan Alvarez. There will also be special drag performances by Roxy Saint Cartier, Mayline Guerreo and many more. On Thursday, there is āLa PlĆ”tica Panel Discussion: Community and Family Supporting Latino LGBT Youth,ā a panel discussion about the challenges facing LGBT Latino youth, at the Human Rights Campaign Equality Forum (1640 Rhode Island Ave., N.W.) from 6-9 p.m. A reception with appetizers and wine follows the panel.
There is a $5 suggested donation for both events. Guests must be 21 or older to attend āLa CoronaciĆ³n.ā For more details, visit latinoglbthistory.org.

āHerses- Purse Frist Extravaganzaā will be on Friday, May 3 at 9 p.m. at 1835 14th St. N.W. This will be an evening of dancing and performances, hosted by HAUS of Bambi Award-winning Performance Artist, BUMPER. Refreshments are also available for purchase.
Tickets are $10 and can be purchased on Eventbrite.

El Techo will host, in partnership with Cherry Fund, a special edition of āCherry Sundaysā on Sunday, April 7 at 11 a.m.
This event is a one-day fundraising bottomless brunch. There will be performances byĀ Evry Pleasure, Tara Hoot and TrevHER, with DJ Lemz. All tequila shot purchases will be donated to the Cherry Fund.
The Cherry Fund raises money for LGBTQ non-profits whose primary goal is to stop the spread of HIV/AIDS with prevention, treatment and education, and mental health services.
The event costs $45, inclusive of bottomless brunch on margaritas, mimosas, Bloody Marys and Tecates.
