‘Rocky Horror Picture Show’ cast announced
Remake adds Nickelodeon star, among others, to ensemble
FOX has announced Victoria Justice, Ryan McCartan and Staz Nair will join the cast for the upcoming “Rocky Horror Picture Show” remake.
Justice, 22, is slated to play Janet Weiss. The Nickelodeon star will lead opposite McCartan, 22, who will play Brad Majors. Russian/Indian model Nair will revive those iconic gold lamé shorts as Rocky.
Last year the network revealed Laverne Cox had been cast as Dr. Frank-N-Furter.
The cult film, which at 40 years is the longest running film to have theatrical distribution, will be reimagined for a two-hour taped event set for release this fall.
“Frank-N-Furter, a sexually ambiguous, flirtatious alien mad-scientist, is holding an annual, Transylvanian science convention to showcase the birth of ‘Rocky Horror’ – a fit, attractive man created solely to fulfill Frank’s desires,” reads FOX’s description of the production.
