Tom Goss dropped the music video for “Son of a Preacher Man” on Monday featuring a teenage gay couple who fall in love in their Christian church.

Goss, known for his viral video “Bears,” sings the Dusti Springfield cover as the backdrop for a Romeo and Juliet style love story between the two. The teens fall for each other despite their church’s minster preaching against homosexuality and their own families’ violent disapproval.

The community’s negative reactions pushes one teen to contemplate suicide, but instead the video takes an uplifting turn as he makes the decision to rescue his boyfriend from the church instead. The couple run away together and are finally happy, putting a positive spin on a frequently dismal situation. Donation links to The Trevor Project and PFLAG are included.

“So many people are hurt in the name of love. Here’s to another way,” reads the video’s caption.
