Ellen DeGeneres introduces digital network with original shows

Ellen DeGeneres is capitalizing on her internet popularity with the launch of Ellen Digital Network, which will offer original online series featuring some of Youtube and Snapchat’s biggest stars.

Deadline reports DeGeneres has teamed up with YouTuber Tyler Oakley for a content development deal. Oakley’s specific involvement hasn’t been announced yet, but it is expected the pair will work on online and TV projects.

Shows on the network will include “Damn, Daniel,” featuring the original creatorsĀ Joshua Holz and Daniel Lara, on Snapchat and “Ellen’s Pet Dish,” an animated series starring DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi’s pets.Ā 

Other programs will be “She’s Brielle-iant!,” about four-year-old genius Brielle Milla and “#MadeByYou,” which will feature videos from viewers at home.

DeGeneres’ YouTube channel has averaged over 300 million monthly views with her video sites Ellentube.com and EllenTV.com averaging more than 105 million monthly views.

ā€œIā€™m so excited for the Ellen Digital Network,ā€ DeGeneres said in a statement. ā€œIā€™ll get to showcase amazing talents like Tyler Oakley and tWitch. Plus, Iā€™ll finally prove to the world that my pets can speak in human voices.ā€
