Lady Gaga took to Instagram to clarify that she and Taylor Kinney are not officially broken up, but “taking a break” from their relationship.

Us Weekly confirmed on Tuesday that Lady Gaga, 30, and Kinney, 35, were calling it quits on their five-yearĀ relationship. “Taylor and I have always believed we are soulmates. Just like all couples we have ups and downs, and we have been taking a break. We’re just like everybody else and we really love each other,” the caption reads.

Lady Gaga and Kinney met on the set of her music video for “You And I.” The couple was last publicly seen together in March at Operation Smile’s 5th Annual Park City Celebrity Ski & Smile Challenge in Park City, Utah.
