The ’90s are revived in all its grungy glory in the new trailer for “As You Are,” the debut film from 23-year-old filmmaker Miles Joris-Peyrafitte, which chroniclesĀ the potentially deadly connection between two teenage boys.

Three small-town teens played by Charlie Heaton (“Stranger Things”), Owen Campbell (“Boardwalk Empire”) and bisexual actress Amandla Stenberg (“Hunger Games”) find their tight-knit friend group rocked by a bloody crime investigation. In between, the two boys are shown to have developed a tender and intimate bond that has transformed beyond friendship.

The film, its name is a nod to the song “Come As You Are” by Nirvana, premiered at Sundance Film Festival this year to critical acclaim and won a Special Jury award.

“As You Are” will be released on Amazon in 2017.
