Aaron Carter is clarifying comments he previously made about being bisexual.

In a podcast for Hollywood Life, Carter was asked if he would ever date a man. The 30-year-old singer said no.

ā€œIt was more so just a story that happened when I was like 17 with somebody. And I can find men and women attractive, but when it comes down to it, I think it was a little misconstrued,ā€ Carter says. ā€œI see myself being with a woman and having kids. I want to have a family.ā€

ā€œI keep telling people that. I donā€™t want it to be misconstrued too much just because I was open about a story,” Carter adds.

Last year, Carter opened up about his longtime sexual attraction to men and women. He also shared he had a same-sex sexual experience at the age of 17.

ā€œI grew up in this entertainment industry at a very young age and when I was around 13-years-old I started to find boys and girls attractive,ā€ Carter wrote. ā€œThere were years that went by that I thought about, but it wasnā€™t until I was 17-years-old, after a few relationships with girls, I had an experience with a male that I had an attraction to who I also worked with and grew up with.”

After coming out, Carter claimed that he and his then-girlfriend Madison Parker broke up because of his bisexuality. His appearance on “The Doctors,” where he discussed his issues with drug addiction, an eating disorder and found out his HIV status, also had Carter express his interest in men. However, over the next few months, Carter flip-flopped in interviews if he was ready to date a man.

Speaking with TMZ in August, Carter said he only wanted to pursue relationships with women.

In December, Carter claimed that he was ready to embrace his bisexuality and would be open to dating a man if one caught his interest. He also had plans to include his bisexuality in his upcoming music.
