‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’ to end with season four

“Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” is coming to an end.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the Netflix series will conclude with its upcoming fourth season. The season will be split into two parts with the first six episodes streaming on Netflix on May 30. A finale movie might also be in the works although the Hollywood Reporter saysĀ NBCUniversal and Netflix declined to comment.

The series, co-created by Tina Fey, followsĀ Kimmy Schmidt (Ellie Kemper) who escapes from a cult and learns to live on her own in New York City. She moves into an apartment with aspiring actor/singer Titus Andromedon (Tituss Burgess) owned by eccentric landlady Lillian Kaushtupper (Carol Kane) and finds a job as a nanny for socialiteĀ Jacqueline White (Jane Krakowski).

“Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” has earned 16 Emmy nominations and sparked an online phenomenon with Tituss’ “Peeno Noir” music video which is “an ode to black penis.”
